House 1884
What
a wonderful getaway we had at the Hampshire House!
Innkeepers Jane and Scott Simmons were so cordial, we felt at home immediately!
The breakfast that was served filled our hearts with joy as well as our
tummies with Apricot and Creme stuffed French Toast. Our sincere thanks
go to the Simmons. We wanted to share some photos of Hampshire House and
entice you into staying, too.

A note from Jane and Scott:
We would like to
invite you to stay with us at Hampshire House 1884. You can enjoy the
charm of the 1800's in this completely restored period inn. Central air
conditioning, private baths and cable TV, along with sound-proofing are
part of this inn's modern comforts. Romney, the oldest town in WV, is
a small sleepy hamlet on the beautiful South Branch of the Potomac River.
We think it is a perfect place to just get away and a enjoy rejuvenating
change of pace.
Reservations can be made by phone or mail. We require a one night deposit
to guarantee a room payable by American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Discover,
Diner's Club or personal check. A three day notice of cancellation is
required for a deposit to be refunded or applied to another date. Less
than a three day cancellation will result in a refund only if the room
can be rented. The first floor guest room is wheelchair accessible. The
garden-patio in the rear fenced yard is named after the fourth owner,
Mrs. Minnie Peters because she was such an avid gardener. Renovations
on the house began in June 1987 and we opened for business in June 1988.
